Moje Bambino acquires majority stake in Tevella

Moje Bambino, a Polish family-owned company and Europe’s leading distributor and manufacturer of educational materials and furniture, has acquired a 51% stake in Tevella Oy, one of Finland’s leading suppliers to daycare centers and schools.

Founded 41 years ago, Tevella Oy is the oldest family-owned supplier of educational tools and furniture for daycare centers and schools in Finland. Ownership remains with Pentti, Ella, and Totti Väyrynen. The Tampere-based company employs 40 people. In 2024, its turnover was approximately €10 million.

Moje Bambino operates several factories, is active in 15 countries, and exports to more than 60 markets. Its mission is to create inspiring and safe learning environments where children can grow and learn in the best possible way.

Through the acquisition, Tevella gains access to several of Moje Bambino’s furniture factories and extensive product development expertise. For Finnish customers, this means even higher-quality products, more competitive prices, and improved service. Tevella’s Tampere warehouse and organization will remain unchanged – fast deliveries and familiar Finnish customer service will continue as before.

According to Tevella’s CEO, the acquisition is a logical next step: “We have always aimed to offer our customers high-quality, practical, and sustainable products. Partnering with Moje Bambino allows us to expand our product range, improve our price-to-quality ratio, and further develop our services. For our customers, this means an even stronger everyday partnership. The share transaction will not affect any of our existing sales, purchase, or service agreements,” says Tevella’s CEO Lasse Laksola.

Tevella remains Finnish

Tevella’s founder and current Chairman of the Board, Pentti Väyrynen, who will continue in this role after the acquisition, explains: “The decision to sell was made a few years ago, but only this year we found a company that shares our values in terms of customer and employee responsibility, and that possesses top-level expertise in educational materials and furniture.

Moje Bambino has also shown strong trust in Tevella’s values and expertise. After the acquisition, the headquarters, warehouse, and customer service will remain in Tampere, and the entire staff will continue in their roles. The Väyrynen family will also remain as owners with a 49% stake.”
